The Innocampus is being built in Bochum-Laer on Mark 51°7, the site of the former Opel plant. This is where Bochum-based Innolectric AG will set up its new headquarters in summer 2023. Innolectric successfully develops innovative charging technologies for electric commercial vehicles. In a strategic partnership, Innolectric and Bel Fuse – a US supplier of products that power, protect and connect electronic circuits – plan to focus on electric vehicle power electronics and next-generation fast charging technology.

"Electromobility has been a target area for Bel's growth and we are pleased to accelerate growth through this partnership with Innolectric," says Bel Fuse CEO Dan Bernstein. Innolectric has "outstanding expertise in hardware and software development" and also "an impressive list of customer relationships, which is a testament to its technology," Bernstein adds.

In turn, Bel Fuse is also expected to help Innolectric grow. Innolectric CEO, Tim Karcher: "Our focus to date has been on product development and we look forward to leveraging Bel's reputation, customer base and global reach to introduce our products to new customers."
