The Rheinufertunnel will be closed from March 30 to April 25, 2026. We therefore recommend traveling by public transportation (see below for connections).

If you are traveling by car: Access to our visitor parking lots will remain available during the closure!

Navigate to Ernst-Gnoß-Straße, Düsseldorf
Follow the signs to the RWI4 building / Völklinger Straße 4
Access to the visitor parking lots via Ernst-Gnoß-Straße is guaranteed around the clock

Exit (please note – subject to change!)

First two weeks (March 30 – April 12, 2026):

Exit via Ernst-Gnoß-Straße

Last two weeks (April 13–25, 2026):

Exit through the Gladbacher Straße underpass heading south

⚠️ Important: Increased traffic is expected in the city center throughout the closure. Please allow extra time for your arrival and departure!

From Essen

A52 (towards Düsseldorf)
At junction A44 turn right towards Mönchengladbach/Düsseldorf Flughafen
Follow A44 towards Düsseldorf-Stockum
Turn right after the airport tunnel towards D-Stockum/-Zentrum
Turn left after the second stoplight towards D-Zentrum
Keep to the right at D-Hafen/-Altstadt/Kulturzentrum Ehrenhof and follow up to Rhine riverside
Turn left towards D-Hafen/-Altstadt (Rhineshore Tunnel)
Follow the tunnel and take first drive left hand (dead-end street) after the tunnel
Follow road up to fountain in front of the RWI4 building
Turn left into visitors’ car park

From Wuppertal

A46 (towards Düsseldorf)
At the Düsseldorf-Süd interchange follow A46 towards Neuss, Düsseldorf
At Düsseldorf-Bilk junction turn right onto L52/Münchener Straße in the direction of Düsseldorf-Bilk, Düsseldorf-Hafen
Turn left onto Münchener Straße
Turn left onto B326/Südring towards Völklinger Straße
Turn right after the first tunnel and take first drive right hand (dead-end street)
Follow road up to fountain in front of the RWI4 building
Turn left into visitors’ car park.

From Cologne

A57 (towards Neuss interchange)
Keep right on A57 towards Düsseldorf-Zentrum, Neuss-Hafen
At junction Neuss-Hafen follow A57 in the direction of Düsseldorf-Zentrum
Turn right on B1/Südring
Follow B1/Südring towards Völklinger Straße
Turn right after the first tunnel and take first drive right hand (dead-end street)
Follow road up to fountain in front of the RWI4 building
Turn left into visitors’ car park.

From Mönchengladbach

A52 (towards Düsseldorf)
At the Kaarst interchange keep right on A57 towards Köln
Follow A57 towards Düsseldorf-Zentrum, Neuss-Hafen
At junction Neuss-Hafen follow A57 towards Düsseldorf-Zentrum
Follow B1/Südring towards Völklinger Straße
Turn right after the first tunnel and take first drive right hand (dead-end street)
Follow road up to fountain in front of the RWI4 building
Turn left into visitors’ car park

Public Services

From Düsseldorf Hbf (main station) with tram no. 709 in the direction of Neuss

as far as the stop at Stadttor (journey time 11 min.), continue on foot in the same direction for about 400 meters, then turn right into the RWI4-Haus building.

From Düsseldorf Hbf with tram no. 707

in the direction of Medienhafen as far as Bilker Kirche (church), walk up Neusser Straße, then turn left into the RWI4-Haus building.

By S-Bahn (urban train), lines 8, 11, 28

as far as the stop at Völklinger Straße, take the Volmerswerther Straße exit, then walk left, cross over Gladbacher Straße, and on past Bilker Kirche. Then bear left (Neusser Straße) until you reach the RWI4-Haus building on your left.
