Produktives.NRW

Just Transition Fund

With its Just Transition Fund (JTF), the European Union supports regions that are heavily dependent on fossil fuels on their way to climate neutrality. The JTF program "Produktives.NRW" aims to strengthen the production of critical technologies in precisely these regions – also for the economic sovereignty of NRW and the EU.

What is being funded?

 

“Produktives.NRW” supports the establishment, investment and expansion of companies that produce critical technologies. Specifically, this includes:

  • Digital technologies, in particular quantum technologies, advanced semiconductor and sensor technologies, artificial intelligence, robotics and autonomous systems, including for industrial and mobility applications, as well as advanced connectivity, navigation and other digital technologies.

  • Environmentally friendly and resource-efficient technologies, in particular advanced materials, manufacturing and recycling technologies, circular economy technologies, including for the recovery of critical raw materials, renewable energy, hydrogen technologies, power grid technologies, battery and energy storage technologies and climate-friendly drive technologies for transport.

  • Biotechnologies, including bioinformatics, process engineering as well as cell and tissue culture and technology.

  • Rhein-Kreis Neuss, District of Düren, Rhein-Erft-Kreis, Aachen urban region, District of Heinsberg, City of Mönchengladbach

  • Ruhr Metropolis: Cities of Bottrop, Dorsten, Gladbeck and Marl ​

Who is being funded?

Companies of all sizes (SMEs and large companies) that are based in the funding areas or want to set up a branch there.

How much support is provided?

The funding rate depends on the size of the company, the funding location, the eligible investment amount and the legal basis for state aid. The funding amount also results from the individual details of the project and must be checked on a project-specific basis.
