Effective January 1, 2026, NRW.Global Business, the state-owned trade and investment agency, will further develop its successful work within a new, future-oriented structure. This strategic realignment strengthens our core tasks and creates clear profiles for our services in the areas of investment, trade, and regional economic development.
At the heart of this new structure is a focused Service for Investors department, which will concentrate on six key future-oriented sectors: Information & Communication Technologies, Green Economy, Smart Manufacturing & Engineering, Life Sciences & Chemicals, New Mobility and Aerospace & Defense. This will allow us to intensify our proactive approach to attracting and acquiring international companies of particular relevance to North Rhine-Westphalia as a business location.
In parallel, we are establishing a department for Key Account Management and International Cooperation to further strengthen our support for foreign companies already based in North Rhine-Westphalia and our global business communities.
Our export promotion services will be consolidated in a dedicated International Trade department. This allows us to leverage the synergies of our core instruments – NRW pavilions at international trade fairs, business trips and individual trade fair support – even more effectively for NRW companies.
Since our merger to form the Trade & Investment Agency in 2020, we have successfully established ourselves as the integrated agency for promoting foreign trade in the state of NRW. Around 850 international business establishment and expansion projects in NRW, as well as the support we have provided to over 1,400 NRW companies on their path to new growth markets, demonstrate this shared success.
