ZCC Cutting Tools Europe expands with test and demonstration center in Düsseldorf

ZCC Cutting Tools Europe, the Chinese manufacturer of carbide tools, is commissioning its new test and demonstration center today. The company will link the center to its existing European headquarters, which has been relocated to larger premises within Düsseldorf. This will enable the firm to significantly expand its technology and service concept. As part of the expansion, ZCC Cutting Tools has invested more than 2.5 million euros and created 20 new jobs. Together with its sister company ZCC Europe, the company now employs over 100 people in Düsseldorf and generates sales of around 60 million euros.

The product portfolio of ZCC Cutting Tools includes indexable inserts, solid carbide tools, tool holders and milling bodies. The new test and demonstration center will enable the company to respond even more specifically to customer requirements and to test new developments. Previously, research & development was mainly covered by the Chinese parent company. Now both tests for customer-specific tool solutions and training courses for dealers, end customers and sales staff can take place in a production-related environment in Düsseldorf itself.

"For ZCC Cutting Tools, the German market is an important driver of product development with regard to quality requirements and new technologies. With our own test and demonstration center, we can now do justice to this even better," emphasizes Quanliang Zhao, Managing Director of ZCC Cutting Tools Europe. "The growth of our company is largely based on our willingness to open up to regional requirements, especially in Europe, and to develop suitable solutions."

The medium-sized company has had its European sales headquarters in Düsseldorf with since 2003. At that time, the proximity to Düsseldorf Airport as the European logistics hub was the decisive factor in the choice of location. Since then, ZCC Cutting Tools Europe has been on a steady growth course, with the company receiving the NRW.INVEST AWARD from the state-owned economic development agency NRW.INVEST in 2015. "There were already talks at that time about a possible technology center in NRW, which happily has now become reality. And since 2015 the number of employees in Düsseldorf has actually doubled. ZCC Cutting Tools is the success story of a Chinese company in NRW that has optimal conditions here for its sales in Europe," says Petra Wassner, CEO of NRW.INVEST.
