Mauser Packaging Solutions develops recycling solutions for industrial packaging. The company is now investing in the expansion of its German site.
Food packaging should be sustainable and at the same time economically viable: At its facilities in Erkelenz, Mauser-Werke GmbH is conducting researching into what food packaging can look like today and in the future. Now the subsidiary of the US company Mauser Packaging Solutions wants to expand these activities and is investing over ten million euros in the North Rhine-Westphalian plant.
In Erkelenz, for example, plastic waste is processed into recyclates which are later used to produce new packaging. Up to 90 percent of this packaging consists of post-consumer plastics – plastic waste produced by end consumers.
Mauser Packaging Solutions specializes in the entire packaging life cycle – from new production to collection, reprocessing and recycling. The company employs over 11,000 people at more than 180 locations worldwide.
