Hygiene and healthcare company Essity will invest around 8 million euros in the expansion of its Emmerich plant by 2024, starting with the relocation of the current warehouse to a neighboring hall that Essity recently acquired. This will create space for Essity to install further high-tech knitting machines to meet the demand for compression solutions on the global market.
Essity's Emmerich plant produces Jobst-brand medical compression solutions that are used to treat phlebological and lymphological conditions in patients around the world. "With the current investment, Essity is recognizing this achievement and is further strengthening the site for the future. I am sure that this will enable us to take the plant and the Jobst brand even further forward," says Istvan Takacs, who has been the new head of the plant since the end of 2021.
The special technology was developed at Essity's Emmerich plant and is so far unique in the world: In contrast to conventional manufacturing, it enables the production of compression solutions that adapt perfectly to each individual body shape. This improves freedom of movement and thus comfort for people who are dependent on compression care due to lymphedema or lipedema.
