With the new research center, Asahi Kasei is taking the next step and aims to triple revenues in the automotive sector from the current 300 million euros to one billion euros in 2025. To this end, the Group is not only expanding its technical services, but also planning to enter into more research collaborations with German companies and universities.

"Asahi Kasei contributes to the development of sustainable products with highly innovative innovations in automotive, environmental and energy technology. At our new research and development center we will develop products for the European market together with German universities and research institutes as strong partners," explained Hideki Tsutsumi, Managing Director of Asahi Kasei Europe GmbH. The company already opened a technology center for engineering plastics at the Chempark in February of this year. It will be integrated into the new R&D center.
