The British systems house Computacenter is expanding its presence in Kerpen near Cologne. In addition to a modern head office, the Integration Center has also been created.
"From our new headquarters in Kerpen, a location in the heart of Germany, we can offer tailor-made IT services for the whole of Europe. And the Integration Center will enable us to continue to grow and cope with the rapidly increasing demand for product supply and configuration services," said Reiner Louis, CEO of Computacenter Germany, at the inauguration ceremony. A total of 44 million euros were invested in both buildings. The headquarters has space for 600 employees on an area of 8,200 square meters. The configuration and logistics center ("Integration Center") in turn will create 250 additional jobs on 30,000 square meters. There will also be field staff. Computacenter in Kerpen is therefore offering around 1,000 employees long-term prospects and young people a chance for an excellent education. The IT service provider not only supplies complete computer networks, including software and hardware, to companies and public clients, but also supports them in their daily work from help desks.
For its investments and clear commitment to North Rhine-Westphalia as a business location, the Minister of Economics and Digital Affairs, Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, together with NRW.INVEST, last year presented the NRW.INVEST Award to Computacenter. In NRW alone, Computacenter employs 2,000 people at eight locations. The systems house has around 15,000 employees worldwide and supplies customers in more than 100 countries. "International investors are of great importance for our state," explained Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart at the award ceremony. "They are important employers, innovation drivers and economic engines at the same time."
