The Luxembourg steel manufacturer is improving the infrastructure at the site and opening a state-of-the-art warehouse.

"With the hall in Ruhrort, we now have all the steps of our value chain in one place: from the production of billets to the rolling and finishing of our high-quality wire products to storage prior to shipping," says Paul Tetteroo, CEO of ArcelorMittal Duisburg, describing the changes at the Ruhrort location. The steel manufacturer had a state-of-the-art warehouse built there in just seven weeks. With the improved infrastructure, the company wants to further strengthen Ruhrort as a location for the future.

The 12,500 square meter hall provides space for around 10,000 tons of wire coils that are stored temporarily in the new building before being dispatched. A dispatch office has also been built. ArcelorMittal invested a total of 5.8 million euros in the new building. Particular emphasis was placed on sustainability and efficiency, for example through the use of steel. 800 tons of the 100% recyclable material was used, and the steel products came from the Group's various plants.
