Brainergy Park, an innovation and startup center, is under construction in Jülich. The foundation stone was laid in mid-August. Spanning 10,000 square meters, the park will provide startups, companies, and researchers with the opportunity to collaborate in fields such as energy, digitalization, and green technologies after its planned completion in 2027. The Brainergy Park is part of the Rheinisches Revier preparation for the future against the backdrop of the planned end of lignite mining.

"The foundation stone that we are laying today signals a new beginning for the region, the state, and future generations. We are creating space for innovation, climate-friendly technologies, and sustainable prosperity. Through the Brainergy Hub, the municipalities of Jülich, Titz, and Niederzier, along with the district of Düren, are demonstrating how to successfully implement structural change," said Minister President Hendrik Wüst at the event.

"With the Brainergy Hub, we are creating more than just space – we are creating opportunities for new ideas, startups, sustainable growth, and concrete innovations," explains Prof. Dr. Bernhard Hoffschmidt, Managing Director of Brainergy Park Jülich GmbH. "The hub will become a landmark for change and a visible symbol of successful transformation on site. Our goal is clear: we want to translate the impetus of state funding into the creation of long-term, sustainable jobs and value."
