The Chinese pharmaceutical company is growing despite the Corona crisis, opening its first German site in Leverkusen.
Which companies were able to grow in 2020 despite the Corona pandemic? In this ranking by the Financial Times, WuXi Biologics from China ranked 14th out of 100. Last year, the specialist in biopharmaceuticals was able to expand its presence in the USA, Asia and Europe. The company launched its German business in North Rhine-Westphalia by taking over a production facility from Bayer in Leverkusen.
WuXi Biologics has invested 25 million euros in the new site. In the long term, more than 100 jobs are to be created, and the company is currently looking for employees. In the meantime, the pharmaceutical company has purchased another Bayer facility in Wuppertal to produce active ingredients for COVID-19 vaccines there. Together with Bayer, this makes an effective contribution to combating the pandemic.
