From Blue Byte to Ubisoft: The German development studio Blue Byte has been part of Ubisoft since 2001 – now the two locations in Düsseldorf and Mainz also bear the name of the French publisher. Another studio was founded in 2017 as "Ubisoft Berlin". Parallel to the renaming, the Düsseldorf team moved into a new office: The new home is the "Duo" office building complex in the Flingern-Nord district.

The purpose of the uniform naming is contribute to the image of the companies and help in the search for new employees: "We want our three studios in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Mainz to shape and further develop their own local identities, as our number of employees in Germany may well double within a short period of time," says Benedikt Grindel, Managing Director of the German Ubisoft studios.

The Ubisoft subsidiaries in Mainz and Düsseldorf develop, among other things, the well-known strategy games "Anno" and "The Settlers". In the future, Ubisoft intends to further expand the competences of its German studios. "We see the potential to grow to more than 1,000 developers by the end of 2023. We have very ambitious plans for our existing and future projects and are looking for creative talents from all areas of game development," reports Grindel.
