The technology and industrial goods group voestalpine Böhler Welding is building a technology center in Hamm at a cost of two million euros

The Austrian company is investing in a center for application technology in NRW. The Group will be offering customers and partners specialist training courses there in the future.

In addition, the new building also offers the possibility to carry out product and application tests for automated welding, explains Thorge Peters, Managing Director of voestalpine in Hamm. The company plans to complete the project in autumn 2018, when more than 600 square meters of space will be available to the company at the site. Fitting out the center with state-of-the-art welding equipment for welding consumables allows the development and implementation of complex technological solutions together with partners on site, says Peters. Bernhard Riegler, manager at voestalpine, calls the investment a "promotion of technology and future technology."

As part of the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, Hamm's Mayor Thomas Hunsteger-Petermann emphasized the importance of the new construction project for the business location.

voestalpine Böhler Welding, headquartered in Linz, Austria, specializes in the production of consumables for industrial welding and soldering applications. The Group operates twelve production sites worldwide. With its product and system solutions made of steel and other metals, the company is one of the leading partners in the European automotive and household appliance industry.
