The consulting firm Accenture wants to make the region's industry fit for the digital age and has therefore established the "Industry X.0 Innovation Center" at Zollverein. In the showroom, Accenture customers can obtain information about technical and technological progress in the context of digitization and network virtually with experts from all over the world. The focus is on the region's core industries: energy, chemicals, steel production, gas and oil processing. Alongside Garching near Munich, it is Accenture's second future laboratory in Germany.

There are several reasons why Zollverein was chosen as the new location. On the one hand, Essen is located in the heart of a large industrial region that stretches from the Accenture Atlas in Leverkusen to the major chemical parks in Marl. "This is an economic region of enormous importance," emphasizes Götz Erhardt, CEO of Accenture. In addition, the special flair of the Zollverein was convincing. The old tradition of an industrial site can be experienced impressively here.
