The American manufacturer of roof sealing systems is building its first insulation material plant in Europe in the Heinsberg-Dremmen industrial area.
Starting in the middle of 2018, Firestone will manufacture insulating materials for mainly commercial and industrial roofs on an area of 30,000 square meters. From the new location, the company wants to position itself even better in the European market for building materials.
Firestone searched all over Europe for a suitable location for its new production plant. Heinsberg impressed in particular with its direct link to the Dutch freeway network and a qualified labor market. "For Heinsberg this is a huge development and confirmation that we are attractive as a business location," said Mayor Wolfgang Dieder. The new settlement will create more than 100 new industrial jobs in the region.
Firestone Building Products produces pioneering products based on rubber and elastomer technologies. The firm is part of the American company Firestone, which in turn belongs to the Japanese Bridgestone Group. In the USA, the company already operates seven insulation material plants.
