Before the end of this year, the US company intends to open a goods distribution center in Oelde in North Rhine-Westphalia, creating 1,000 jobs.

A giant is growing in NRW: Amazon is expanding its German network with a new logistics center in Oelde. In doing so, the online retailer wants to meet increasing customer demand, expand its product range and also provide greater support for small independent sellers.

The logistics center is being built in Oelde in the Aurea interregional business park. Theo Mettenborg, Mayor of Rheda-Wiedenbrück and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the business park, welcomes the development: "For Aurea, the new settlement of Amazon represents a special success story for the joint commercial zone of the cities of Oelde and Herzebrock-Clarholz and Rheda-Wiedenbrück. Having this large company on site strengthens the regional business location. Rheda-Wiedenbrück stands for cooperative collaboration with the business community."

Amazon is planning to build another 200,000 square meter logistics center with jobs for at least 1,100 people in the Lippe Industrial Park, Horn-Bad Meinberg.
