Online retailer Galaxus opens first logistics center in Krefeld

The online retailer Galaxus Deutschland has opened its first logistics center in Krefeld. More than 20,000 different products will be stored and delivered from here on 5,500 square meter of floor space.

With the help of its new location, the company wants to generate 100 million euros per year with customers in Germany. "We have found the perfect warehouse location for our online shop in Krefeld," says Frank Hasselmann, Managing Director of Galaxus Deutschland. "From here, we can reliably deliver the ordered goods to our customers' homes within 24 hours". The direct connection of the business park to the European freeway network creates ideal conditions for the smooth handling of goods. The area also offers sufficient space to expand the logistics center if required. An additional 500 square meters are already available for offices and workrooms.

Galaxus Deutschland is a subsidiary of the largest Swiss online retailer Digitec Galaxus AG, headquartered in Zurich. From Krefeld, a quality range of IT, electronics and telecommunications products will be delivered initially. Further product categories such as household, fashion or toys can follow. If the market entry in Germany is successful, Galaxus also wants to open logistics centers in other countries.
