Die Preisträger des NRW.INVEST Award 2019.

Competence Call Center, L'Oréal, Nortal and PICNIC – these are the winners of this year's NRW.INVEST AWARD. The award was presented by Economics Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart and NRW.INVEST CEO Petra Wassner.

From the Dutch online supermarket PICNIC, which received the award for its investment in a central warehouse in Mönchengladbach, while also writing success stories at four other locations in NRW, to the Viennese communications specialist Competence Call Center, which now employs more than 2,500 people here: With their active involvement in the state, the award winners are promoting the attractiveness of the location – both nationally and internationally.

Foreign investors stimulate the economy, are important employers in NRW – and frequently also pioneers in "New Work", i.e. the working world of the future. The latter is demonstrated by the traditional French company L’Oréal with its new, ultra-modern headquarters.

Whether it is new approaches, product developments or technologies like those the Estonian digital expert Nortal is bringing to the state: The know-how of the award winners shows once again how foreign investors can contribute to North Rhine-Westphalia's capacity for innovation.

Minister Pinkwart: "North Rhine-Westphalia has attractive location conditions that enable us to compete successfully with other European metropolitan regions: More than 20,000 foreign companies have already settled here. International investors are important employers whose know-how and innovative spirit also drive the progress of our state. With the NRW.INVEST AWARD, we would like to express our thanks for this commitment. The award winners show how digitization can have a positive impact not only on our economy and working environment, but also on public life as a whole.
