With immediate effect, Neste plans to manage its newly created business unit "Renewable Polymers and Chemicals" from Germany. Düsseldorf is to act as the global headquarters for the refinery company's business. In the future, business development, sales, marketing and the management of value chains will be controlled from here. "The concentration of activities in Düsseldorf will enable faster growth with the aim of becoming the world's leading supplier of sustainable and circular solutions," says Neste-Deutschland boss Mercedes Alonso.

The new location in the heart of Europe's leading chemical region offers Neste several advantages: "The heart of the European chemical industry beats in Germany and especially in the Rhineland. Since we cooperate with partners along the entire value chain in the polymers and chemicals sector, we benefit from the networks that exist here – from research institutes through processors to end customers," says Alonso.

With this new business unit, Neste aims to supply the plastics and chemical industries with precursors made from biomass and chemically recycled plastic waste. The products are produced in the Neste refineries in Porvoo/Finland, as well as in Rotterdam and Singapore.
