Largest German deep-freeze warehouse to be built in Herne

Nordfrost is investing around 110 million euros in a new refrigerated logistics center. In doing so, the company is creating the largest and most efficient location in Germany.

Nordfrost is the German market leader in frozen food logistics. The company is now building a modern cold logistics center in Herne. It is scheduled to go into operation as early as November 2019, when it will become the most efficient location. This new building will strengthen the company's activities in the Ruhr region, where it is already represented with seven branches.

90,000 deep-frozen pallet spaces are being built on 34,000 square meters in Herne, where Nordfrost is creating an additional 200 new jobs. In the long term, Nordfrost also intends to enter the fresh food logistics market. To this end, some of the existing capacities will be converted to fresh storage. By 2020, Nordfrost intends to increase its storage capacity in Germany to one million storage spaces with new buildings, plant expansions and acquisitions.
