Tesla to open its first branch in the Ruhr region

The US electric car manufacturer is opening its next German site in Holzwickede near Dortmund.

Test drives can already be booked at the new Tesla Center near Dortmund. The location also offers digital advice on electric cars. According to Tesla, the service and sales areas will follow in the spring for the official opening. In addition, jobs are to be created for a "medium double-digit number" of employees.

The new Tesla branch is located in the immediate vicinity of Dortmund Airport and the A1 and A44 freeways. In this way, customers from the surrounding area can also be reached. The U.S. company is steadily expanding its charging infrastructure and already has more than 80 Superchargers and 750 fast-charging stations throughout Germany.

In addition to Cologne, Dortmund will be the second official Tesla Center in North Rhine-Westphalia; there are seven throughout Germany.
